The Barcelona airport closed the year with the addition of a new regular link from the airline Etihad, which connects Abu Dhabi with El Prat after a six-and-a-half-hour journey. Not seen in Barcelona before, ​​this young company, which has recently celebrated its fifteenth anniversary, is the third airline of the Persian Gulf that lands in our city and does so to compete with two of its neighbours in the region: Emirates and Qatar Airways.

His arrival in Barcelona has been done aboard a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which is less than a year old. Barcelona has become the 91st destination of Etihad’s global network, present in 53 countries both in cargo and passenger services as well as only cargo flights. The company has 110 aircraft with an average age of six years, 22,500 employees of 152 nationalities, with several branch offices that offer ground handling services, crew training, maintenance, and engineering both in their country and others.

The transport of goods is another service that stands out from Etihad, as most of the regular flights operate with a fleet of wide-cabin aircraft, which means they have space in their holds for both the luggage of the passage and to offer air cargo space from Barcelona for the entire Asia and Oceania.
